Making bows:
-
Cutting fabric to the desired length & 2x the ended width allow
for 1" seam allowance in both directions.
Ex: a bow with a finished width of 4" then cut a large piece fabric which measures 15"
x 3" & a small strip 3" by 3" which includes the seam allowance. Fig.1b

Folding this in half lengthwise & sew around 3 sides leave
an opening for turning right side out.

Now shaping the ends to the fold.

Next trimming the seam allowance.

Right side out, start by slipstitching the opening &
press. Fig. 2b

Taking a smaller strip of fabric in the same way to go around
the center of the bow.

Folding the longer piece of fabric to form a bow.
-
Now by secure the center the smaller strip of fabric, slipstitch
ends on the back.

Making a rosette:
-
Cutting a piece of fabric 1½ times, the ending result =
circumference by the width of finished rosette allowing 1" seam allowance on
both sides.
-
Ex: for a finished diameter of 4" cut a strip of about
fabric 20" x 5" including the
seam allowance.
-
Now pinning & stitching short edges together
-
Using a flat seam, forming a ring & press the seam
allowance open.
-
Folding in half lengthwise (right sides) together &
matching raw edges.
-
Now two(2) rows of gathered stitches through double
thickness close to the raw ends.
-
Pulling up threads, start gathering into a rosette &
secure and anchor the threads.
-
Now sew a covered ball in the center (right side) through
all the thicknesses.

You have just completed your pretty rosette
